It’s the million-dollar holiday question: What do you get for the couple who has everything?
How about a romantic weekend getaway?
If you think you can’t afford it, think again.
When couples say they’d like to “get away” for a little while, it doesn’t have to mean a plane ticket and a rental car. Sometimes a little luxury is practically in your back yard.
Marvin’s Garden Inn is one of those places. Located in Southfield, Marvin’s Garden Inn may resemble other hotels from the outside, but the accommodations are anything but ordinary, from the updated rooms to the talking parrot in the lobby.
The Inn’s 110 rooms have all been recently renovated and feature Tempur-Pedic mattresses, free high-speed Internet, personal clothes steamers, and 32″ high definition televisions.
“We have taken comfort to the limit,” says owner Marvin Garmo.
This is most evident in the granite bathrooms with massaging shower-heads and multiple body jets. “Our biggest seller is the showers,” says Garmo. “People say this is the best shower in town.”
Even if you can’t spring for the most luxurious room, there isn’t a bad room in the house. All rooms feature updated and remodeled bathrooms and include a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.
Even if you’re not looking for a gift, Marvin’s Garden Inn’s central location makes it an ideal place for relatives from out of town to stay during the holidays.
The Inn is only 15 minutes from downtown Detroit and is located right at I-696, Telegraph, and Northwestern Highway. I-275 and I-75 are minutes away and it’s only 25 minutes from the airport.
Marvin’s Garden Inn is in the process of changing their logo and is planning future renovations. “Comfort, comfort, comfort – that’s what I’m shooting for,” says Garmo.
Marvin’s Garden Inn is located at 27650 Northwestern Highway in Southfield. For more information and for a virtual tour visit For reservations call 1-888-200-5200.
