UofM scholarship available for LGBTs and allies

ANN ARBOR – Scholarships are available for students at the University of Michigan who have demonstrated a commitment to LGBT organizing. The Detroit Eagle Gay Community Scholarship and Jim Toy Scholarships scholarships are intended for any student who has demonstrated leadership, support, or involvement in organizations, activities, or issues that benefit the lesbian, gay male, bisexual, and transgender communities.
Eligibility criteria include enrollment as a full time undergraduate or graduate student in good standing at any University of Michigan campus or school, and willingness to be publicly recognized as a recipient of the award.
The award amount is $1,000. Applications are available online in PDF format at www.finaid.umich.edu/types_of_financial_aid/scholarships/scholfind.asp, or students can pick up a copy from one of the following offices:

The deadline for applying for the Winter term at U of M is March 25, 2005. Recipients will be notified by April 11.
