Midwest AIDS Prevention Project’s Annual Ferndale Metro Blues Festival raised over $13,700 in 2005. After expenses, $11,000 will be presented to Ferndale Youth Assistance and MAPP on April 11.
During the festival, nearly forty concerts were held over five days at dozens of venues in Ferndale, Royal Oak and Hazel Park.
Dino’s was the festival’s top fundraiser, with over $2,000 raised. Rosie O’Grady’s raised over $1,700 and Club Bart held five concerts and raised over $1,000.
The Ferndale Metro Blues Festival will be part of the Detroit Super Bowl host committee in 2006, and the Ferndale Blues Festival will be an officially sanctioned Super Bowl event.
