WHISTLER, B.C. – The largest international gay and lesbian ski and snowboard festival, Altitude 2005, will begin in Vancouver Jan. 29, 2005 with an expanded line-up of activities, special events and festivities from Jan. 30 – Feb. 7.
The venue for the event, Whistler, provides an incredible backdrop for Altitude’s seven days of skiing, boarding, outdoor adventure, world class dining and non-stop entertainment and parties. This year, Out on the Slopes Productions presents daily skiing and snowboarding, apres parties, special themed events, and new features such as daily fireside breakfasts and yoga during the week.
“Altitude 2005 is presenting 40 events this year compared to last year’s 29, as we aim to meet a wide range of interests and continue to build this unique, world-class event,” says Out on the Slopes President Lee Bergeron. “The fact that Altitude Gay and Lesbian Ski Week in Whistler continues to grow in scope and profile pays tribute to the memory of the event’s founder, the late Brent Benaschak.”
Altitude 2005 event and registration information, accommodations, lift tickets, event passes, and travel information is available at www.outontheslopes.com. Altitude 2005, in cooperation with its partners Travelocity and Entree Canada, offer special air and hotel or hotel-only package deals. Information is available on the event website.
