Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community is beginning the Stitch In project, a chance for adults to meet and enjoy needlecrafts together. The group will meet the third Monday from 6-9 p.m at Affirmations in Ferndale beginning May 16. There is a $2 suggested donation.
All LGBT adults with varying levels of stitching skills are welcome. The group facilitator is a recent transplant from California with over 30 years of experience in quilting and is a founder and former facilitator of the Sew ‘n’ Sews, a quilting group in California.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials and a dish to pass. For more information contact Kimya Ayodele, Affirmations’ Community Outreach & Older Adult Services Coordinator, at 248-398-7105, ext, 24 or kimya.ayodele@goaffirmations.org.
