MCC ordains pastor in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK – Robert Bond, who has served as Interim Pastor Leader of Sign of the Covenant Metropolitan Community Church for the past 5 years, will be ordained into Christian ministry on Sept. 24 at 3 p.m.
Rev. Deb Dysert of Divine Peace MCC and Rev. Mark Bidwell of MCC Detroit will conduct the ritual of ordination. The ordination address will be given by Dr. Laurel Schneider, a professor at Chicago Theological Seminary as well as author of “Re-Imagining the Divine.”
Prior to serving the church in Battle Creek, Bond was the Interim Pastor Leader of Gospel of Jesus Christ MCC located in Midland.
Metropolitan Community Churches currently has a membership of over 43,000 with churches in over 22 countries and new church plants in several other countries. There are seven MCC congregations in Michigan, located in Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Clarkston, Flint, Midland, and Battle Creek.
