MADISON HEIGHTS – Praise Fellowship Christian Church will not be meeting in their usual Madison Heights storefront due to a fire that broke out in an adjacent storefront last week.
Praise Fellowship's Rev. Rick Green told BTL that although his church was not the location of the fire, the building was not usable due to smoke and water damage. "We are meeting for the forseeable future at the Holiday Inn Livonia at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays for worship service," he said.
In addition to the church and retail businesses, the shopping center at 17617 John R. houses a drug testing facility where the fire originated.
Rev. Green was not sure when the church would be back in its old location. "They're saying probably the next two to three months we should be back in there but we don't really have a definite date yet," he said, adding that the building's roof needed to be replaced.
The Holiday Inn Livonia is located at 17123 North Laurel Park Drive.
