By BTL Staff

DEARBORN HEIGHTS – As reported by Between The Lines on Oct. 27, the American Family Association of Michigan, a leading anti-gay industry group, is planning to begin a ballot drive to repeal a pro-LGBT rights ordinance passed by the Dearborn Heights City Council earlier in October. In response, local equal rights activists are planning a Town Hall meeting in Dearborn Heights on Nov. 21 to begin organizing to meet the anti-gay threat.
According to the Triangle Foundation, "This [the anti-discrimination ordinance] was a significant victory for human rights and the GLBT community and we must not let it be repealed!"
The Town Hall meeting to save the Dearborn Heights Human Rights Ordinance will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21 at the Canfield Community Center, 1801 N. Beech Daly in Dearborn Heights. For more information contact Triangle Foundation Director of Policy Sean Kosofsky at [email protected] or 313-537-3323, ext. 105.
