Dear BTL,
I would like to show my gratitude for your article “Candles lit; tears shed for victims of violence” in the Nov. 24 issue of BTL. The article hit the essence of the of the candlelight vigil.
The only thing we strived for was having some representation from the straight press at the vigil. This is the fifth year we have held the Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremony and only the Oakland Press came out the first year. Since then no one has come out. Unfortunately, we in the trans community are not important enough for the straight media to come and cover our stories and what this is all about.
