Anti-Defamation League recognizes Women of Achievement

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — The Anti-Defamation League held their annual Women of Achievement Awards May 30 in Troy, where five women were honored for their commitment to justice, diversity and the betterment of society.
This yearÕs Women of Achievement honorees included Penny Bailer, executive director, City Year Detroit; Adreena Harley, director, Department of Education, Beaumont Hospital; Michigan Senator Gilda Jacobs and Linda Parker, director, Michigan Department of Civil Rights.
The women were chosen based on their societal impact, their dedication to the community and their achievements in promoting diversity. Co-workers, members of the community, family members or friends nominated these women.
Dr. Mary Sue Coleman was chosen as this yearÕs recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to the community throughout her career as the president of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
