Royal Oak holds festival for mouths and eyes

ROYAL OAK – More than 50,000 people will descend on downtown Royal Oak for its premier summer event, the 12th Annual Clay & Glass and Taste of Royal Oak Festival, from June 17 to June 18.
Celebrate Father's Day Weekend the artist's way at the region's largest juried clay and glass festival with expanded hours, more music and food.
One hundred and thirty-five of the country's top artists in clay and glass join forces along four blocks of Washington Ave. and intersect at Fifth Street, where 10 of Royal Oak's best restaurants and a roster of the region's best jazz, blues and funk music are featured along Fifth from Washington to Center Street.
"As one of the founders of the Clay & Glass Art Show, I am truly pleased to see how it has grown to become a first-class festival, creating a wonderful economic impact on our Downtown and a memorable experience for all who attend," said Jim Domanski, co-owner of Pronto! and board member of the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce.
A special children's art area and glass blowing demonstration will take place at both Fifth and Washington and Seventh and Washington. On June 17, downtown Royal Oak becomes electric with food, music and entertainment until 10 p.m. on Fifth Street.
