Column on gay-giving lacks statistics

Sean Kosofsky suggests in his most recent column that gays don’t support gay causes to the same degree that ethnic or religious group members support their respective interests. While this may be true, he doesn’t cite a single statistic, or provide any financial information to back up his point. Effectively conveying an argument requires evidence, not just rhetoric. Show me the numbers that prove we’re all a bunch of latte-quaffing hedonists, and I might be convinced that we have a problem. I also wonder why no group aside from the Triangle Foundation is mentioned as a great source for a contribution. Could it be because the author of the piece works for the Triangle Foundation? The article is as self-serving as it is unconvincing.
