Read Responses from the Pride Source 2024 Election Candidate Survey
Community Voices Shine Bright
To date, we have received 18 responses to our 2024 Pride Source Media Voters Guide Candidate Survey, as well as a growing list of editorial contributions from community members and LGBGQ+ leaders (find these commentaries here). We’re thrilled to share these perspectives with you during an election cycle that will have lasting, deep impacts on Michigan’s LGBTQ+ community. Not only does the power of Michigan’s House of Representatives hang in the balance, but the implications of the presidential election loom large.
It is heartening to recognize the enormous contributions of time, resources, and emotional labor candidates throughout the Great Lakes State have made, and will continue to make, on behalf of our community. We greatly appreciate that the following candidates have completed our survey, which touches on topics like transgender and reproductive rights, education, economic stability, homelessness, and more. We even quizzed candidates on how they feel about drag queens in 2024 — a topic that has elicited surprisingly thoughtful responses from candidates all over the state.
We invite you to learn more about the Michigan candidates listed here and to visit Equality Michigan Action Network’s list of 2024 endorsed candidates. The stakes could hardly be higher. Make a plan to vote, and encourage your network to vote through in-person early voting, mail-in absentee ballot, or in person on Nov. 5. Learn about your ballot at vote411.org and visit michiganvoting.org for voting details.
