I just have one question: Why did the "columnist" bother to write a review of a product from an artist he obviously dislikes? ("'Lost Love': Diana Ross records generic comeback album," by Chris Azzopardi, Jan. 11 issie.)
There was no objectivity in his so-called "review." I and many others in life, the music industry and journalism have found the new recordings from Diana Ross truly wonderful. But I guess like other things … opinions are things that everyone has. Just sad that an obviously talented columnist took the easy road with this review. Diana Ross is one of the easiest targets to criticize in this day and age. However, far more respect goes to the true journalists of today who actually bother to be objective and do their home-work, rather than jump on the hate bandwagon. Fortunately, a transparent article such as this will be easily tossed and forgotten when the public hears the great recordings of this material by a great national treasure.
If anyone asks, I'll have to advise them to "RUN, don't walk" away from columns contributed by (this) so-called "journalist."
