Expecting that simply placing information about HIV and STDs on a bottle of (viagra) pills to reduce risk is as naive – and fundamentally right wing – as expecting warnings about smoking hazards to get smokers to quit. It adheres to the basic right wing philosophy of assigning all responsibility to the individual and letting corporations off the hook completely. So for Michael Petrelis – the favorite gay mis-informant for powerful right wing congressmen and senators – to be defending Pfizer just shows that he will be consistent in only one thing doing what it takes to get his name in print. When will someone do a story on that, instead of falling prey to his manipulation of the gay community press?
