Tour of the Town
6-10 p.m. March 9
Downtown Ferndale

Ferndale’s trendiest shops are the place to be from 6-10 p.m. March 9, for a special evening of shopping and entertainment. Local restaurants, which will offer wine and hors d’oeuvres, and a slew of shops will participate in Tour of the Town.
“It’s just a really fun night out and a way to say, ‘Thanks for supporting us,'” said Veronica Lujic, who began the tour in 2005 to unite local independent businesses.
At the first stop, participants pick up a “Ferndale Passcard,” which will direct them to all the participating outlets, who will be having in-store specials. Those who get stamps from each business will become eligible for special promotions and raffle items.
As word of mouth travels, Lujic, who owns State of the Art on Nine Mile with her partner, estimates the turnout to be between 300 and 500. “People basically travel in packs and go around and see what everybody has going on,” she said.
A mix of Ferndale retailers will offer unique possibilities for gifts, fashion and home decor. Dragonfly, Elegance by Design, Fetch, Flip, Lofts on the Nine, Naka, Ormolu, Strawberry Moon and Twisted Shamrock will participate and SOHO will host an afterglow.
Assaggi, Dino’s, The Fly Trap, Gracie’s Underground, Josephine, Maria’s Front Room, Nami, The Post, and Western Market will provide catering.
