A theatrical sampler: Heartlande Theatre presents 'RetroFEST'

BEVERLY HILLS – Heartlande Theatre Company will present the 2nd annual "RetroFEST" on Saturday, March 31 at 7 p.m. in the Seligman Family Performing Arts Center at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills.
The evening will be Heartlande's sole fundraiser for the year, and will be composed of short plays selected from previous Play-By-Play marathons as well as 2 short films that were adapted from plays written during past workshops taught by Vincent J. Cardinal and sponsored as part of HTC's ongoing development programs.
"We're using the 'RestroFEST' as a way to highlight the various forms that play development can take – including the dramatic short form of the 10-minute play and the transformation of a stage play into the medium of film," said Mary Rychlewski of Heartlande. "Once again the evening will present a wide variety of writing styles with a little something to satisfy almost every theatrical taste."
All but one of the scripts that will be presented as part of the evening were authored by local playwrights, including Donna Keegan, Sara Snyder and Jim Leach (Ann Arbor), Jan Radcliff (Farmington Hills), M.V. Patton (Ferndale) and Kathleen Lietz (Royal Oak).
General Admission is $20. Checks and cash will be accepted at the door. Discounts are available for seniors, students (with ID) and groups of 10 or more (if paid in advance).
The Seligman Performing Arts Center is located at Detroit Country Day School, 22305 W. 13 Mile Road on the SW corner of 13 Mile Road & Lahser in Beverly Hills.
