A Little Princess' opens March 23 at Costick Center

FARMINGTON HILLS – "A Little Princess," the beloved tale made famous in the movie starring Shirley Temple, is coming to the Costick Center. Ten shows will be presented by the Farmington Hills Youth Theatre on two consecutive weekends, March 23 – 25 and March 30 – April 1. This year's Youth Theatre spring production continues the tradition where both children and adults perform and, in several instances, family members share the spotlight together.
This clever musical adaptation is offered by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Farmington Hills in cooperation with Sky's the Limit Productions. The story takes place in England and revolves around Sara, an heiress to a large fortune who suddenly becomes penniless and is forced to become a servant at the boarding school she attends. "A Little Princess" is a touching, beautiful story involving many hard-learned life lessons.
Tickets for "A Little Princess" are $8 and $6 for ages 55+. They will be available at the door approximately one-half hour before show time.
All shows will be at the Costick Center, 28600 West Eleven Mile Road (just east of Middlebelt) in Farmington Hills.
Show schedule is as follows: Friday, March 23 – 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 24 – 1 p.m. & 5 p.m.; Sunday, March 25 – 1 p.m. & 5 p.m.; Friday, March 30 – 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 31 – 1 p.m. & 5 p.m.; and Sunday, April 1 – 1 p.m. & 5 p.m.
The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre offers performance opportunities for both beginners and experienced actors in a learning atmosphere. Over 200 auditioned for the roles; 140 were accepted into two casts. The Cultural Arts Division also offers acting workshops and a series of summer youth theater camps.
