Saugatuck's Mason Street Warehouse announces summer season

SAUGATUCK – Mason Street Warehouse, an uptown theater in downtown Saugatuck, is pleased to announce its 2007 season.
Mason Street Warehouse continues the tradition of presenting new and unique plays and musicals, opening the season with the regional premiere of "Altar Boyz." MSW is pleased to be the first regional theater in the country to be awarded the rights to present this smash Broadway hit. The Altar Boyz are on the last night of their "Raise the Praise" tour, and their goal is to save the souls of everyone in the audience with their high energy, rafter-raising style of singing and dancing. You'll thank heaven for this musical comedy about a fictitious boy-band. "Altar Boyz" is directed and choreographed by MSW Artistic Director Kurt Stamm. Performances June 22 – July 8: Tuesday-Saturday 8 pm, Sunday 6/24 and 7/1 at 7 pm, Sunday 7/8 at 2 pm.
Social satire meets absurdist comedy in the off-Broadway hit "The Food Chain." Under the direction of Samuel Buggeln, riotous chaos builds around the actions of a neurotically thin poet; her closed-mouth husband; a "delicious" male model; his food-"junkie" stalker and a wacky crisis hotline volunteer. Performances July 13 – July 29: Tuesday-Saturday 8 pm, Sunday 7/15 and 7/22 at 7 pm, Sunday 7/29 at 2 pm.
Third in MSW's line up is "Lucky Stiff," a zany, offbeat and very funny musical murder mystery farce about an unassuming English shoe salesman who stands to inherit a fortune if he carries out the ridiculous requirements of his long lost uncle's will. If he fails, the money goes to the dogs. Stolen jewels, secret identities and a love interest only add to the hilarity and mayhem of this whodunit musical comedy. Directed and choreographed by MSW Artistic Director Kurt Stamm. Performances August 3 – August 19: Tuesday-Saturday 8 pm, Sunday 8/5 and 8/12 at 7 pm, Sunday 8/19 at 2 pm.
Travel in time with five women as they come of age during the liberating days of the 1960s, a time that made England swing. Mason Street Warehouse is pleased to present "SHOUT! The Mod Musical," featuring new arrangements of such classic tunes as "To Sir With Love," "Downtown," "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me," "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Goldfinger," among many others. With its irresistible blend of infectious and soulful pop anthems and ballads, psychedelic dances and eye-popping sets and costumes, this groovy musical will make you want to throw your head back and "Shout!" (A Shout! Touring, LLC production.) Performances August 24 – September 9: Tuesday – Saturday 8 pm, Sunday 8/26 at 7 pm, Sunday 9/9 at 2 pm.
Joining MSW's artistic team this season as guest director is Samuel Buggeln. Buggeln has many off-Broadway and regional credits, including work at the Ohio Theatre where he is an artistic associate, with Soho Think Tank and Portland Stage, where he has been the casting director for seven seasons.
To date, Mason Street Warehouse 2007 sponsors include Edward Jones; Macatawa Bank; Perrigo Company; Fairly Painless Advertising; John M.
