LANSING — "Sex&Violets.com" is making its North American debut. The production centers on Stafford Myers and Thora Ainslie as they find themselves sucked into a dark and erotic world, one filled with shadow and sinister purpose.
Escaping their mundane lives they surreptitiously search the Internet, thinking their adventures are their own little secrets. Little do they know that their every move is being manipulated and monitored by the cyber demon, Artaud. "Sex&Violets.com" is a modern-day morality play married to the flashing banners and clandestine conversations of the Internet.
"It's really a relief to find a space and have new dates," said Artistic Director Jeff Croff in a statement. "We're humbled to receive the support and encouragement from our Old Town neighbors to ensure that the show goes on and that it stays near Old Town. It also seems very appropriate that a show focused on the Internet would find its home at Lansing's seat for hi-tech innovation. We're very grateful to ACD.net for providing a home for this production."
For ACD.net President Kevin Shoen, he just wants the arts to thrive.
"It's what gives this area such a great vibe," he said in a statement.
The production will appear at 8 p.m. May 4, 5, 11 and 12 at the ACD.net Metro Internet Exchange (MIX) at 1800 N. Grand River in Lansing. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, call (517) 290-4375 or visit www.icarusfalling.com.
