The Lawrence Street Gallery will be exhibiting the works of Donna J. Engstrom and Mary Macey until June 30. "Intimate Views" is a joint mother-daughter exhibit featuring mixed media pieces by Donna J Engstrom and photography by her daughter, Mary Macey.
Macey's intriguing photographs encourage us to view the world in new ways. She uses her camera lens to capture people, places and things with an insight and sensitivity all her own. Her photographs reflect the power of her vision. She has chosen to display a blend of unaltered and digitally altered photographs for this exhibit.
Engstrom is an award-winning mixed media artist whose work has been published in books and magazines. Her work is in national and international collections and is a celebration of color and texture. Using her favorite media of paint and collage, Engstrom's pieces in this exhibit will be her abstract interpretation of Macey's photographs.
Viewers will enjoy the range of Macey's photographs and Engstrom's conceptual vision of them.
Lawrence Street Gallery is located on 22620 Woodward Ave., Ferndale, in the second block south of Nine Mile on Woodward's east side. Gallery Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.lawrencestreetgallery.com.
