CANTON – Celebrating the Gala Season Opener of the Village Theater at Cherry Hill's 2007-2008 Season, under award-winning music director and conductor Nan Harrison Washburn, Orchestra Canton presents "Movie Music Magic!" at 8 p.m. Sept. 8.
The opening night concert of Orchestra Canton's fourth season, this concert features full orchestral scores and favorite songs from some of the most popular and memorable films in recent years. The orchestra will also be collaborating with several other Canton-based performing arts groups including the Spotlight Players and the Canton Concert Band.
The program includes selections from the Richard Rodgers musical "Carousel," a medley of tunes from John Kander's "Chicago," Danny Elfman's "Spiderman," "Band of Brothers" by Michael Kamen, highlights from James Horner's "Titanic," and selections of John William's monumental scores from the original "Star Wars" and "Jurassic Park."
Orchestra Canton is generously supported by the Partnership for the Arts and Humanities, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and through the donations of our patrons.
Orchestra Canton tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $10 for children.
