Internet chain emails needs full context

The following text is a personal email reply to a coworker and friend I want to share with BTL readers. I'm sure my reaction was far more then they expected. It all stems from one of those chain emails we all have gotten. This particular one was a protest message to the news that some schools in the United Kingdom stopped teaching the holocaust as part of their curriculum because some religious groups find the portrayal of Jewish persecution offensive. A later check of Snopes proved this to be a huge exaggeration. However I think the greater lesson here is not in the particulars, but in the incompleteness of these internet chain mail messages and the ease with which they are embraced and circulated around the world. I would challenge everyone to consider these messages in their full context, both in what they say, what they imply and what they omit.
Here is something the whole list of people endorsing this message need to consider, feel free to share it.
I find it a greater tragedy that not everyone persecuted in the holocaust is remembered by those who send out these mass messages, the gypsies, homosexuals, and political dissidents were also rounded up for extermination. If history is being remembered so we can avoid repeating it, then we must remember history in its' entirety. But we don't have to repeat it, as some of this holocaust discrimination never stopped! The evidence is in the fact that civil rights and legal protection exists here in our own country (USA) for all these groups EXCEPT homosexuals, who are denied their constitutional rights and this is sanctioned by our President and Congress and most state legislatures. This is also the case for many other countries as well.
It would be nice if Americans started here at home in their quest for civil rights and justice, instead of being hypocrites and meddling in other countries affairs instead.
