Letter: Dig deeper on Lansing Community College DP

I am somewhat disappointed in this article, "Lansing Community College cancels DP benefits for non-bargaining unit employees, BTL, Nov.1". If I wanted to read the State Journal then I would have picked it up. Where's the hard hitting facts from Pride Source? If you dig deep enough at LCC you will find disappointed people. Why such the long facess because our college has given up without a fight. Its great to have an advisor working for the college who doesn't act like a chicken with its head cut off. She has taken positive action by notifying the present LCC President of the dismay. It was also suggested to create a faculty and staff panel for LGBTQ issues. I am afraid we all have been given a song and dance. We will not be silent. I urge students and faculty to take a step up for those who may fear for their jobs and their health benefits. As for LCC boards of trustees, quit clucking with your employees and fix this problem already!
