Gigi's in Detroit will hold its 34th annual Tony Garneau Toys for Tots Holiday Benefit Shows at 10 p.m. Dec. 8 and 8 p.m. Dec. 16. In past years, the funds raised have been donated to community sites and foster homes. After Gigi's staff searched for a charity more closely connected to the LGBT community, they chose to raise donations for the Ruth Ellis Center in Highland Park. Drag queen Nickki Stevens will host both nights. In addition, $6 tickets are being sold for a holiday pancake breakfast at Applebee's in Westland (on Warren) at 8 a.m. Dec. 9, with proceeds also going to the Ruth Ellis Center.
