The winter solstice leads the Sun into Capricorn. Just before that, he passes Pluto in Sagittarius, focusing on eroticism, obsession, and personal power. Once in Capricorn, he aligns with Jupiter, showing opportunity through structure and discipline. As in the classic hero's quest, facing your demons will bring huge rewards.
ARIES (March 20 – April 19): Yes, your ideals are important. Having other people agree with them is not so much. Try to express your commitments without being dogmatic. The closer you get to the core of your beliefs, the more you'll find that they are open to growth.
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20): Your most secret erotic dreams can come true if you can be brave enough to reveal the secret. Then what? There is always more to explore and more to be discovered, whether you're pursuing fantasy and technique or personal intimacy.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20): Don't be scared to argue with your partner. A good blow-up can clear the air, getting "minor irritations" out of the way. (Those little things are often much bigger than they seem, anyway.) Then the "big" issues will be a piece of cake.
CANCER (June 21 – July 22): When was your last complete physical? Get a thorough check-up. You may spot a problem before it gets serious. At work especially, remember the difference between focus and obsession. Focus leads to great breakthroughs; obsession just makes you crazy and antagonizes your colleagues.
LEO (July 23 – August 22): Your creative energy is burning bright. Challenging others with it is too easy and ultimately not satisfying. Challenge yourself instead! Your greatest fear or obsession offers great inspiration, and discipline brings huge opportunities.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22): Domestic disputes "could" prove helpful in clearing away lingering, perhaps hidden and neglected issues. Stay principled and calm through all disagreements. Decide early on what's really important and what you may need to sacrifice.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22): It seems everyone wants an argument, so you have to decide whether to be pleasant and accommodating. Every self-evident truth is in fact a dogma hiding a deeper truth. Let go of your cherished notions, and you'll find something better to believe in.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21): "Retail therapy" is the problem, not the solution. If you get the urge to shop, find something to sell, not to buy. Haggle like hell. Your bargaining skills are now at their best.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20): You are strength, charisma, and indominability personified. Even if you're a bottom, you can make this work to command and get what you want. If you offer rather than demand, you'll get even more!
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19): Confronting your greatest nightmares can bring great benefits. Resistance is not only futile, but will make the process worse. Be willing to work and sacrifice. The greater the challenge, and your willingness to face it, the greater the rewards will be.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18): Your ability to command and move a crowd is extraordinary now. The more you work with others, the greater your accomplishments will be. Be very careful what you wish for, as you are all too likely to get it.
PISCES (February 19 – March 19): You are unavoidably in the hot seat now. Your ability to turn challenges into opportunities will open doors for you. The trick is to relax and breathe so you can focus and concentrate, but not obsess.
