Perceptions Saginaw Valley will be hosting Dr. Julie Nemecek at 7pm on Thursday, February 21, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Avenue, in Saginaw. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event.
Dr. Nemecek's was employed for 16 years at Spring Arbor College until she changed her name from John to Julie as part of her transition from male to female. The Christian College said that she violated the terms of her contract and they fired her. They've since agreed on settlement terms.
Dr. Nemecek has gained international attention having been written about in publications such as Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal. She's also appeared on Fox news. She is an interesting and informative speaker. Thursday, she will have a question and answer period following her speech.
