I want to thank you for your story about Michigan gay sports organizations that just ran in the Health section. There are very few positive articles that include gay athletes, so it was nice to see Between The Lines cover this story.

Great article on LGBT Sports. I really feel that sports are important to self esteem.-*Men that feel good about themselves will take better care of themselves. Women that exercise have lower breast cancer. It is also just so empowering to have other gay and lesbian folks to run with every week for me.-*

I lived in Michigan with my partner Tim Murphy from 1991 to 2000 while he completed his PhD in Lansing.-*I started running with Detroit Front Runners (Royal Oak) in 1998 and have been running with Front Runners since. We moved to Seattle and I found one of the best clubs in the world. I joined the board, then the board of Team Seattle, and now the Federation of Gay Games.

It is great to check in on Michigan via your Web site!
