Grand Rapids Front Runners and Walkers 5-kilometer race and fitness walk will take place on June 1 at Riverside Park on Grand Rapids' northwest side. The Pride 5K is a celebration of LGBT pride – and all people, gay and straight, are invited to participate. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the following organizations: The Triangle Foundation for its Generation.OUT scholarship fund; The West Michigan Pride Committee to enhance this year's 20th-anniversary Pride celebration; Gays in Faith Together (GIFT) to supplement its "Beyond Seven Passages" program; Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan to fund its "Now That's a Family!" project, which promotes understanding of the many different kinds of family units. For information about the race, including an entry form, visit http://www.grfrontrunners.org, e-mail [email protected] or call the race hotline at 616-363-9356 or 616-954-0823.
