Tipping Point Theatre remounts inaugural production of farcical 'Don't Dress for Dinner'

NORTHVILLE
Tipping Point Theatre (TPT), metro Detroit's newest professional theater company, will remount its inaugural production of the stage farce "Don't Dress for Dinner." Written by Marc Camoletti and adapted by Robin Hawdon, "Don't Dress for Dinner" opens June 12 and runs through June 29 for a total of 15 performances.
"Don't Dress for Dinner" follows Bernard, a wealthy Frenchman who is planning a luxurious weekend with his chic mistress. He has engaged a cook to prepare gourmet delights, packed his wife Jacqueline off to her mother's and invited his best friend Robert to provide the alibi. What could possibly go wrong?
A hilarious evening ensues as we discover Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, the cook is mistaken for the mistress, the mistress is unable to cook and Bernard and Robert must improvise at breakneck speed.
Plymouth resident Gillian Eaton directed the original staging of this production. Eaton is an award- winning actress, director and teacher with extensive credits in theater, film and television on both sides of the Atlantic, including the West End production and London national tour of "Don't Dress for Dinner" (in the role of Jacqueline).
She is a graduate of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and is currently the Vice President of Arts and Humanities at the YMCA of metro Detroit. She is also a freelance director and teacher of Shakespeare in performance. She has been a guest theater artist for numerous organizations including the Prison Creative Arts Project, Flint Youth Theatre, the Detroit Zoo and the Detroit Historical Museum. The entire original cast of Tipping Point Theatre's production will be returning for the remount.
Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 3 p.m and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are on sale now.
