Black, gay men’s HIV work should have started years ago

The news that 46 percent of black, gay men may be infected with the HIV virus that causes AIDS is old news and were just getting around to having a town hall meeting about it. Amazing. White, gay men realized HIV/AIDS was a plague in the 1980s and the best and brightest of them came together and did something about it THEN. I guess its better late than never, but why have black, gay men been so slow to react to the huge HIV/AIDS infection rates in our midst? And what did the town hall meeting accomplish? As a black, gay man myself, I wish them the best. The more we help ourselves and each other, the more respect we will have in the community and the world at large. I hope you do follow-up articles on this topic. I’d like to know what these black, gay men are doing with this six months from now, one year from now, two years from now, etc.
