Mason Street Warehouse, an uptown theater in downtown Saugatuck, will feature "As Bees in Honey Drown" as the second show in its 2008 season.
The witty, clever commentary on fame, the production opens July 11 and runs through July 27. Guest director Samuel Buggeln returns to Saugatuck to direct Douglas Carter Beane's "As Bees in Honey Drown"; the show's cast is made up of actors from New York, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.
In an age that focuses on image, life is not always as it appears. When a mysterious woman who's made the world of celebrity her home invites a "hot-young thing-of-the-moment" novelist to write the screenplay of her life story, we discover life's characters present unexpected twists, and a person can convince himself (or herself) of almost anything.
2008 marks Mason Street Warehouse's sixth season. Tickets to 2008 Mason Street Warehouse productions are $25-$38. Group, student and senior rates are available. Tickets are available at the MSW box office or by calling 269-857-4898. This production is for mature audiences.
