Brad Pitt gives bucks to gay cause

Billy Masters

"I had my fair share of wham-bam. One can never have enough wham-bam. When a guy strays and ends up with someone else, it's not a big deal. Sex for men is external. I think it's hard for women to realize this." – John Barrowman in an article titled "What I know about men" from "The Guardian" of London. Perhaps it should have more accurately been called "What I know about a lot of men…and I do mean a lot!"

My whole life, I've been almost painfully thin. Throughout high school, I wore boy-size pants (slim cut) because I was so skinny. I actually looked for ways to put on weight. Once I hit my 20s, I was finally able to wear a size 28, which was fine – still slim, but at least a normal size. Selection was limited, to say the least. In my early 30s, I inched up to a size 30, which was a dream come true – I could finally buy real clothes and invest in a wardrobe. Be careful what you wish for – from 35 onward, maintenance became a necessity. In the past six months, I've easily put on 15 pounds and the handful of 31s I had for those chunky days became snug. I had to invest in a few 32s just to get through the summer.
While no one's calling me a big fat pig, I'm also not getting any sympathy for having to wear a size 32. One of my best friends considers it a good day if his waist size doesn't begin with a 4! But I feel heavy and can't wear my fun clothes. I simply must focus and take care of this. And I will.

I tell you this because last week I was enjoying my carb-free muffin while watching "The View," and the gals commented on how good Barbara Walters looked. BW revealed that she'd been struggling all summer to lose some weight and she finally achieved her goal. While most of the panel was congratulatory, Whoopi couldn't understand why Walters, who's always so trim, worried about her weight. "I'm three times your size," she said. Babs explained that she was finding it hard fitting into her clothes and just felt heavy, which I totally get. Since the old girl turns 79 in two weeks, I give her even more credit. How much exercise can she be getting? She can't go out jogging – she'll break a hip. And heaven knows most crypts aren't equipped with a treadmill!

If I feel bad about myself, all I have to do is look to our most gorgeous celebs and see that even they have their fat periods. Never before would I put luscious Channing Tatum in that category, but I'm about to. From the photos taken during his modeling days, it looked as if he didn't have an ounce of fat on him. Even in that infamous penis shot (oh, yes, it's on http://www.BillyMasters.com), he's tight, defined, and cut (but that's another story). Then I was sent some candid shots of him at the beach in Hawaii and, well, now he's got a stomach – and I couldn't be happier. It might have to do with his success – struggling actor/models don't get to eat as much as gainfully employed ones. It might have to do with him being happily engaged. Or it might have to do with the fact that he's 28. Wow – at least I made it to 35 before it all went downhill!

After capitalizing on flaunting his rockin' bod, Mario Lopez has made a decision: "My shirtless photo-shoot days are behind me." And thousands of gay men everywhere mourn. Mario swears he's doing this so that people will take him seriously as the host of "Extra." Or it might have to do with the fact that he just turned 34 and would like to eat dessert!

On the opposite side of the spectrum, little Miley Cyrus is spending a considerable amount of time with singer/model Justin Gaston. You remember Justin – I wrote about him when he was on "Nashville Star" and posted his rather explicit underwear shots (including one where his impressive dick is quite visible – check it out). He's been turning up all over the place with the 15-year-old Cyrus – including her church in Pasadena (I'll post the pics)! Oh, it's a darling picture – the two of them in matching black tank tops walking out of church, with him holding a well-worn bible. Aside from wondering if tank tops are now acceptable church attire, he's certainly mega-hot – and looks as if he doesn't weigh more than 150 pounds! Well, that's because he's 20! See?

The Point Foundation is the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBT college students, and their annual gala here in LA raised over $300K. It was a great event, save for one perplexing speech by a mucky-muck who thanked a myriad of people, including his "life partner of the past 10 years." Huh? Anyhoo, helping bring in those big bucks was Kristin Chenoweth, who received the Point Courage Award. The usually composed Kristin was quite emotional when she accepted her award, saying, "I've received awards for my talent, but it is not often that one can receive an award for their character." Others on hand were Camryn Manheim, Bryan Batt, Harriet Harris, Ellen Greene, Judith Light, Tracie Thoms, Eric Millegan, Christopher Rice, and TR Knight (who was with that boyfriend of his, who might very well be a Point Scholar). You can get more information about this terrific organization at http://www.PointFoundation.org.

Speaking of charitable donations, Brad Pitt just donated $100,000 to fight California's Proposition 8, which is the proposed ban on gay marriage. While this has made big news, what is less known are the queer celebs who have NOT given any money to the cause. High profile folks like Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa Etheridge, Elton John, and Rosie O'Donnell have not contributed a cent – and they're all married (well, kinda)! I'm not saying anyone is obligated to support a cause, but it seems these people might want to put their money where their mouths are.

In his heyday, pop singer Jason Donovan was vehemently accused of being gay…to the point that it was reported as fact in a UK magazine. Because he didn't want to fuel the fire, he turned down a movie he was offered and instead did a flick called "Rough Diamonds," which bombed. The film he passed on was "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and that role went to hunky Guy Pearce. Jason's long regretted that decision – but he's getting the chance to revisit the project. A stage musical based on "Priscilla" was a huge success in Australia and will soon be opening in London's West End on March 23 with Jason in the cast – not as the young hunk but, rather, taking on the role Hugo Weaving played in the flick (come on, it's been 15 years).

Our "Ask Billy" question comes from Ernest in Miami Shores: "What's this I hear about Chris Cooley of the Washington Redskins (and a tight end at that) accidentally exposing himself on his Web site? He looks awfully cute, so what are the chances my main source for these things has the picture?"

Chances are pretty good, Ernest. Here's the story. On Chris' blog, he posted a picture of his "Tight Ends Test" (a test I'm sure I'd score well in). The book was sitting on his open lap and, well, he probably should have edited out his penis, which I'm assuming he was using as a bookmark. Once this was brought to his attention, he quickly apologized for the accident and took the photo down – but not before we snagged it. You can see this tight end's flip side at BillyMasters.com.

When Mario thinks keeping a shirt on will give him credibility, it's definitely time to end yet another column. Next week, I'll be filing my exclusive Emmys column, as well as a report from the opening night of the musical version of "9 to 5" on http://www.BillyMasters.com. If you need my immediate assistance, just drop a note to [email protected] and I promise to get back to you before I winch myself into a pair of Garanimals! Until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.
