What makes your car queer?

If a rainbow had wheels, we know some of you would drive it. Or at least the BTL readers we talked to, like the ones scattered throughout this issue, would.

"My car isn't gay. It doesn't have a stick shift, but it does have a tranny. Secretly I think it wants to be a Hummer."
– Kirk Taskila, Lansing

"(My car) is not a cute, trendy gay car by any stretch of the imagination. So I had to give it a little life by always having musicals in the CD player."
– Kyle Hadley, Clinton Township

"Well, I suppose all my bumper stickers.. I've got an HRC one, a few rainbow stickers, and a sticker of rainbow people dancing."
– Amber Fetter, Houghton

"I drive a pick-up. It's pretty obvious."
– Callie McKee, Ann Arbor

"The gayest thing about it is it's the 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' vehicle and it proclaims it's XL right on the badge."
-Travis Parman on his GMC Yukon XL

"Does a bunch of CDs with really bad pop music count for anything?"
– Alison Christy, Hamtramck

"The gayest thing about my car – and I apologize in advance – might be the extensive collection of Broadway musical CDs I carry with me regularly."
– Gary Anderson, Detroit

"Honestly, I don't know anything that's queer about my car, other than the fact that I have six LGBT related stickers/rainbows decorating it. My former partner laughed when she saw my car and said, 'Now, all you need is a loudspeaker on top.'"
– Denise Brogan-Kator, Milford
