This Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m., Stephanie Maxson will be ordained at the Drayton Avenue Presbyterian Church at 2441 Pinecrest Ave. in Detroit.
Maxson will become a member of the clergy at the Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit, a well known LGBT-friendly church, pastored by openly gay Rev. Mark Bidwell.
Maxson was recently ordained as clergy with the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, and is also an Air Force Sergeant.
A reception will follow the ordination at the MCC-D Chapel Fellowship Hall.
