Who Wants Cake? offers 'lowbrow, low price' production of 'The Bad Seed'

FERNDALE – What happens when an evil little girl starts offing anyone who gets in her way? Find out when Who Wants Cake? presents their campy and newfangled version of the Maxwell Anderson classic thriller, "The Bad Seed."
"The Bad Seed" will play for an exclusive four-week run at Ferndale's The Ringwald Theatre from Feb. 20-March 16. For this lowbrow comedy, Who Wants Cake? will offer low-price Friday and Saturday night tickets for $15.
"The Bad Seed" presents the sordid story of 8-year-old Rhoda Penmark, perfect on the outside and rotten to the core within. Rhoda wears frilly dresses, sports perfect blonde braids and has her curtsies down pat. She likes to play the piano and sit quietly in the arbor, reading. She's also a psychotic killer whose mother must make a decision tougher than Sophie's Choice in order to stop her murderous rampage! Who Wants Cake? offers an over-the-top version of the classic play which stars two Wilde Award winners: Joe Plambeck as the evil Rhoda and Detroit-favorite Laurel Huffano as both the ever-drunk Mrs. Daigle and her husband.
Tickets for "The Bad Seed" are $15 for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday performances, $15 for 3 p.m. Sunday matinees and 8 p.m. Monday performances are only $10 a ticket. The first Sunday performance at 3 p.m. Feb. 22 will be Pay-What-You-Can. Reservations may be made by phone at 248-545-5545 or online at http://www.WhoWantsCakeTheatre.com. The box office opens 45 minutes before performances.
