Tipping Point Theatre offers summer drama camps

Are you – or your kids – into theater? Students can spend the summer learning all about theater from Tipping Point’s professionals. Here’s all the info:

Fairy and Troll Camp (First-third grades)

Learn the basics about theater through fairy and troll-themed stories, games, music, arts and crafts. Children will learn about myths and legends in literature with a focus on play and imagination. The week culminates with a theatrical adventure.

Session 1A: 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Monday, June 22-Friday, June 26
Session 1B: 1:30-5 p.m., Monday, June 22-Friday, June 26
Cost: $175
Instructor: Julia Glander

SHOWcamp! (Fourth-eight grades)

Experience the many aspects of putting together a stage production. Students will audition for roles in a musical and train with a choreographer, musical director and director. They will also play an integral part of building the set, creating costumes and will learn valuable theater tricks of the trade. The session culminates in a full musical production of a children’s script of “Willy Wonka.”
10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday, July 6-Friday, July 17
Cost: $350
Instructor: Jeff Steger

Teen Musical Company (Ninth-12th grades)

Learn what it takes to be a professional actor on the Tipping Point stage, and perform in a full-stage musical. Watch their Web site or call the box office for more information on this intensive summer experience, still in development. By audition only.
