Ferndale goes to the dogs - again!

Ferndale Downtown Development Authority will host the second annual Fido Does Ferndale on July 11 in the downtown area of the city.
The event will showcase the many canine-friendly aspects of Ferndale. Many downtown businesses will be open to patrons and their pets, with most providing doggie treats and water.
Dog lovers looking for something more than shopping will be able to participate in the Pooch Parade, a walk around the downtown area that provides dogs with an opportunity to socialize with one another. The day will also include dog contests like best trick and cutest outfit, and a dog photographer will take pictures of owners and their pets. Rescue organizations will be hand for those looking for a canine companion. Several vendors, selling pet-themed wares, will be set up along Nine Mile Road.
In preparation for this event, which attracted over 350 attendees during last year's first annual event, the Fido Does Ferndale Planning Committee is currently seeking committee members, corporate sponsors, and pet-related vendors. Interested parties should contact Carrie Copeland, Chairperson of the Fido Does Ferndale Planning Committee. She can be reached by calling 248-398-7105, or by e-mailing her at [email protected].
