Save the Michigan Film Incentive!

A rally will be held at the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 to help dissuade Michigan legislature from cutting the tax incentive that has brought filmmakers to the state.
The event is hosted by Big Screen Michigan and members of the state's film and TV industry. Currently, there is a push to end the tax incentive for filmmakers who choose Michigan, potentially cutting off this blossoming new industry in the state. According to supporters of the bill, several film industry producers are currently not committing to Michigan, while waiting to see if the legislation will go back on it's original promise for tax incentives.
Attendees will learn ways they can help save the MFI, hear the long term positions of the announced candidates for Governor, get assignments to contact the legislators that are trying to ruin Michigan's film future, network with other filmmakers and supporters and directly help build a new industry here in Michigan.
