The eighth annual Orchard Lake Fine Art Show kicks off July 30, running through Aug. 1 in a new location in the heart of West Bloomfield, south of Maple, west of Orchard Lake Road. Show Director and Producer Patty Narozny of Hot Works, LLC – and who also lives in Michigan – travels year-round to the best art shows across the nation and Canada to recruit artists to participate in the event.
Many artists, therefore, won't be seen at other Michigan art shows. Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase artwork of all media, including paintings, sculpture, clay, glass, photography, wood, fiber and jewelry. For each booth, the artist is present at the show. Attendees are welcome to approach the artists with questions as to how they make their work or what inspires them.
The show has been voted in the top 100 art shows in the country the last three years and won five awards from 2009 Michigan Festivals and Events. A team of art professionals who have spent many years involved in the arts jury the show.
In addition to the art, there is live entertainment, children's art activities, local food and the Chadwick Accounting Group's Youth Art Competition for grades K-8.
The event opens on Friday, July 30 with a ticketed Caesars Windsor Artist Preview Party from 6-9 p.m. This casual gala provides patrons with first choice to purchase the artwork and includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres, catered by Vineyards Deli and Redwood Grill, and beverages, including beer and wine. The show is from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, July 31 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1. Donation fee is $5 (12 and under are free).
Parking is open off Orchard Lake Road, behind the Beaumont Medical Center, Barnes & Noble and the West Bloomfield Corporate Plaza.
