Steppin’ Out, which hosts the annual AIDS Walk Detroit, will be holding a pre-walk party at Pronto! restaurant in Royal Oak all day Aug. 19.
The fundraiser, which takes place from 9 a.m.-10 p.m., will allow diners to help raise needed funds for Steppin’ Out, which will go toward HIV/AIDS service organizations in metro Detroit and beyond. They’ll also have a chance to meet fellow walkers and supporters of Steppin’ Out, and to sign up for the walk and make donations. There will also be a raffle for gift baskets sponsored by Pronto! as well as lunch, dinner and drink specials.
Steppin’ Out is also looking for volunteers to help out with Steppin’ Out’s beverage booth during Arts, Beats & Eats Sept. 3-6 in downtown Royal Oak. The nonprofit will be selling both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to attendees of the festival, with proceeds helping to support Steppin’ Out.
AIDS Walk Detroit will be held on Sept. 19 this year. To learn more about any of these events, or to volunteer, call Steppin’ Out at 248-399-9255, or visit http://www.aidswalkdetroit.org.
