Judith Slotkin loses life to cancer

Judith Slotkin, 64, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., died on March 14, 2011. The funeral was held at Ira Kaufman Chapel on Thursday, March 17 at 12:30 p.m.
Slotkin, who was very involved in the Jewish Gay Network in West Bloomfield, was described as "a remarkable leader" who "was able to bring together diverse populations and really create a community" by the network's director, Judy Lewis.
"She was one of a kind," Lewis continued. "We have suffered a very great loss in both the Jewish and GLBT communities."
Slotkin is survived by her life partner Anne Adelson, children Elissa (Colonel David Moore) Slotkin and Dr. R. Keith (Amy Gottesman) Slotkin, siblings Martin (Alice) Spitz and Diane (Rabbi Mark) Raphael. She is also survived by Adelson's children, Eitan and Ezra Kalmowitz, and many loving friends and family.
