Victorian punk-themed benefit for Ferndale Public Library and Queer for Books

FERNDALE-
Floral company Blumz by JR Designs is sponsoring a benefit, An Evening Under the Poppy, for the Ferndale Public Library and the Queer for Books book club on Friday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. Local author Kathe Koja, who has been honored by the American Library Association, will be signing copies of her book Under the Poppy, a story of two men in love and war.
The theme of the event is Victorian punk. Costumes are encouraged. Cocktails and appetizers will be served, and attendees will enjoy live music from the band (the) fundamentalists. Proceeds from the event will help the library purchase LGBT books for a special collection. Ticket stubs for An Evening Under the Poppy can be redeemed for the after party at Ice Nightclub. Blumz's event space is at 503 E. Nine Mile Road in Ferndale. Tickets cost $30 in advance or $40 at the door.
