DETROIT-
Curtis Lipscomb, the executive director of KICK, a nonprofit for LGBT African Americans, has been honored with the National Outstanding Service Award from Prideindex.com's 2011 Esteem Awards.
The Esteem Awards honor local and national organizations and individuals for their continued efforts in supporting the African-American and LGBT community in the areas of entertainment, media, civil rights, business and art. The 2011 Esteem Award honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony on Saturday, July 2 at Chicago's Sidetrack Nightclub from 1-4 p.m.
