After the marriage equality victory in NY, the president is pressed by media on his same-sex marriage views, which he says are 'evolving.' What do you think?

I like the president to both declare my rights and be coy about them. So cute.

Kerri, how is he being coy about our rights? Not one president has done more for our than our rights than he. Republicans and some Democrats tried to get him to back down on overturning "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," but he refused to! He has done much more to advance gay rights than any single president and he's said it again and again that we should have the same rights as our straight counterparts.
He's putting his money where his mouth is for us. Yes, we should keep up the pressure, but I don't understand how we expect him to do it all on his own and overnight! He's done more in 2 years than any president has done since Stonewall!

Honestly, I'm not impressed by "more than any other president." That's still pitifully little. He can't even make a strong statement in favor of gay marriage, which he supported during his first Illinois run but conveniently changed to support of civil unions when he began national campaigns. We're a core base for him and other Democrats. We deserve more than a request for money and a half-hearted "support."
