Pride Night At The Palace

By AJ Trager

AUBURN HILLS – In an upcoming game against the Toronto Raptors, the Detroit Pistons will celebrate a night of pride.
The exclusive Club 300 will host a Pride Night Dec. 19 at the Palace of Auburn Hills that will include fun and entertainment in a private room. Participants will have the change to enjoy private access to Club 300's two bars as well as private restroom facilities.
"We do so many of these nights (themed nights)," Abe Alcodray, account executive at Palace Sports and Entertainment said. "The sports world is coming around and society as a whole, too. San Francisco hosts a Pride Night, so does LA. Why not bring it to Detroit, which has a vibrant LGBT community?"
Alcodray has been working throughout 2014 to set up a Pride Night. He has spoken with the big three (GM, Ford and Chrysler) and says that they are all ecstatic about the Pride Night event. Other themed event nights like Red Cross, Golf Industry and Faith and Fellowship night all do really well, Alcodray says, and since Michigan has a strong LGBT community, he wanted to bring that presence to the Palace.
Attendees will have a third floor view of the court, a visit from a Pistons Legend and a special appearance by members of the Detroit Pistons entertainment team.
Tickets cost just $45 and include entry into Club 300, an all you can eat and drink menu (beer and wine included) and a post-game shot on the court following the game.
Hosted by the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce, this event is open to the LGBT community of Michigan as well as its allies.
The game against the Raptors will start at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19 at the Palace of Auburn Hills, 6 Championship Dr., Auburn Hills.
