ANN ARBOR – The Jim Toy Community Center will host the 2015 Washtenaw County Pride Picnic from noon to 3 p.m. on Aug. 1 in Allmendinger Park, Ann Arbor. Attendees will enjoy food, games, children’s activities, music and a family-friendly drag show, among other things.
This year’s picnic will include veggie and meat brats grilled by The Wurst Bar and sides and desserts from the Aut Bar, Ayse’s Cafe, Frita Batidos and The Lunch Room.
In addition to the picnic celebration, several community organizations will be on hand to provide information to area residents, including MI Legal Help, Corner Health and the HIV/AIDS Resource Center. HARC will be equipped with their mobile testing unit to provide free and confidential rapid HIVtesting to those who are interested.
All proceeds from the picnic will benefit the Jim Toy Community Center, a nonprofit resource center which exists to provide information, education, social events and advocacy for and by the LGBT and allied residents of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and greater Washtenaw County. JTCC envisions an inclusive community where people of diverse sexual orientation and gender identity are visible and live together in equality, respect and happiness.

Zingerman’s. The picnic will be hosted by Al Dente Pasta, Leigh Greden and Chip Smit and Courtney Piotrowski.
Tickets cost $5 for adults; those 18 and under may attend free of charge.
