Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, Out And Equal Host Midwest Series Panel

DETROIT –The Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Out & Equal, a national LGBT advocacy group, have joined together to present the first installment of the Midwest Learning Series "Beyond Policies and Benefits: Creating an LGBT Inclusive Workspace." The free event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on July 27 at the GM Learning Center located on Level 2 in the Renaissance Center.
The series aims to bring together LGBT professionals, business leaders and allies, and provides an empowering opportunity to engage large and mid-size companies with the goal of creating more supportive and inclusive workplaces.
"The Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce is proud to work with Out & Equal, helping to encourage positive changes for employees across metro Detroit," said Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Heard. "It is our common goal to create an environment where all professionals feel that they are valued members of the workplace."
Participants will have the opportunity to meet and hear from a select group of local panelists who will share best practices and strategies to enhance workplace inclusion, visibility and diversity.
Panelists include: General Motors Global Director of Talent Acquisition, Bill Huffaker; FCA Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Marlin Page; attorney Amanda J. Shelton; project coordinator for the ACLU of Michigan's Transgender Advocacy Project, Amy Hunter; and Owner of Global Alliance Solutions, Nikki Pardo.
