Browndog Micro-Batch Creamery Expands Location

BY BTL STAFF

NORTHVILLE – Ice cream and cocktails and brunch! Oh my! How exciting to learn that the popular micro-batch creamery Browndog will open their expanded space located at 120 E. Main St. in downtown Northville – next to their sister location in Farmington. This "barlor" (bar and ice cream parlor) will serve ice cream, cocktails, appetizers and Sunday brunch. The public soft open is scheduled for Feb. 24 from 3-10 p.m. and will remain open through the weekend.
This announcement coincides with the celebration of Browndog's two-year anniversary (14 years in dog years). The micro-batch creamery, an LGBT-friendly business, is owned by Paul Gabriel and Brian Scherle.
"We are looking forward to expanding our original location in Downtown Northville and will continue to keep with the Browndog tradition Michiganders have grown to love," said Scherle.
Browndog Northville will feature a full kitchen – led by executive chef, Chris Kurtz – which means the location will offer an expanded menu to include savory menu items, plated desserts, a craft cocktails bar with a heavy focus on Michigan-made products such as Michigan craft beers and spirits to create cocktails such as beer floats and dessert martinis.

"We are excited that Browndog has chosen to expand their business in Downtown Northville," said Lori Ward, Northville Downtown Development Authority Director.
"Their unique dining concept has certainly built a following in Michigan and the owners' entrepreneurial energy and creativity will draw new visitors to Downtown Northville."
The expanded Northville location will continue to be family-friendly where guests can enjoy their favorite uniquely flavored Browndog Creamery small batch ice cream, but it will also have a more adult feel than the original location in Northville for those who want to grab a bite to eat and a cocktail.
"We love being part of the Downtown Northville business community and are excited that metro-Detroiters have another location to enjoy the full Browndog "barlor" experience in Michigan while still continuing to be a place where families can walk in and grab a cone," said Gabriel.

Browndog is also known for their custom cakes, including wedding cakes, and housemade desserts.
