Anger Management with Fran Brown, MA, Sept. 22, 8 – 9 p.m.
OUT in the Sun Summer Picnic. "Lazy days of summer, We don't think so!" An active day at Kensington Metropark, featuring group walking, running, biking or rollerblading. All ages welcome; please call to RSVP in advance. $5 fee. Sept. 11, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Health Provider Networking Reception. A new program. Are you interested meeting other local gay or gay friendly physicians, dentists, chiropractors, and other health professionals? Find out what your colleagues specialize in, meet new Affirmations staff, and learn about what else is new at Affirmations! Light refreshments will be served. Bring a colleague who is not on our referral list for free admission. RSVP by Sept. 15. $10 fee. Sept. 24, 5-7 p.m.
Regular programs
Out Running & Walking. Enjoy a run or walk around fashionable Ferndale! Please wear proper clothing and shoes, and feel free to bring your dog along. All skill levels are welcome. The group covers three miles each week. No registration or sign-up necessary. Mondays 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Coping with Loss. Facilitated by Christine Spencer of Gilda's Club, this bereavement support group is appropriate for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one through death. Saturday, Sept. 10, 1-2:30 p.m.
Quit Smoking Workshop. Are you thinking about quitting smoking? Do you want to find out if you're ready? Come and learn why you smoke, if now is the time to quit, and to receive tips on how to make quitting easier. Sept. 14, 7-8:30 p.m.
Weight Watchers. The only LGBT-targeted Weight Watchers program in Southeast Michigan. This group currently meets at 7 p.m. on Thursdays – call now to join the current group or sign up for the next 12 week series of sessions. Thursdays, 7 p.m.
